My Life

I come from a Latino family. I was born in Modesto California. My parents where born in Mexico from a small town called Concepcion de Buenos Aires Jalisco. My mom is Cecilia but we call her Cecy for short, she is a very religious women and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. My dads name is Rigoberto, he is a very hardworking man and also enjoys being with his family. And my younger brothers name is Rigoberto also we named him after my dad, we call him Jesse, my brother is a very athletic boy his favorite sport is soccer. 

Our Culture
Since my parents are from Mexico are culture is very distinct. The majority of Mexicans are catholic. In catholic churches they celebrate the day of La Virgen de Gudalupe or in other words The Virgin Marie. We celebrate the day of her birthday We believe that this lady is our mother and Jesus Christ is our father. On the day of  La Virgen de Gudalupe we join together in mass and we have the Mariachi play Las Mananitas for her. Also we have an Aztec dance come in and dance.

My Favorite Holiday

My favorite holiday is Christmas, because in Mexico we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Also in Mexico santa doesnt come around instead its Los Tres Reyes Magos that come on January 6th, but we celebrate it on the 5th thats when all the family comes together and eats. There is a bread called the Rosca, its a very good oval shapped bread that inside contains three small little dolls and the legend says that if you get one of them in your slice of bread you have to make Tamales for the whole family.

Our Food

The most common plate of Mexican food are Tacos, Rice and Beans. In my opinion Mexican food is the best, we have a various amounts of food. From Tamales and Champurados to Posole and Enchiladas. And lets not forget about the tortillas. We dont really use forsks or spoon we always use tortillas to eat almost all of our food. My favorite food is Enchiladas.

Dances, Parties, and More

Another big thing in Mexico are the dances. The most common dance it the Ballet Folklorico its mainily dance in big celebrations like Dia de los Muertos. Another big thing is the mariachi, the mariachi is a band that plays many songs and ussually has a person who plays the Guitar, the Trumpet, the Violin, the Guitarron, and the Vihuela.
